The winners of Himig Handog 2018 has been announced earlier on ASAP! The top 5 best songs were awarded together with the special awards.
The grand winner took home P1 million pesos, while P500,000 was brought home by the 2nd Best Song. The composers of the 3rd, 4th, and 5th Best Songs received P200,000, P150,000, and P100,000, respectively.
On its 9th year, the theme was “Love Songs and Love Stories.” As done before, the original compositions are interpreted by some of today's hottest and upcoming music performers.
Maris Racal's "Sugarol" (Composer: Jan Sabili) brought home 3 out of 5 special awards including MOR’s Choice Award, TFC’s Global Choice Award and Myx Choice for Best Music Video.
While the OneMusicPH Favorite Interpreter was awarded to "Wala Kang Alam" by Sam Mangubat.
Followed by Best Produced Track: "Tinatapos Ko Na" by Jona (Composer: Sarah Jane Gandia). This song was also hailed as the 5th Best Song.
Finally the, Star Music Listener’s Choice and 4th Best Song: "Mas Mabuti Pa" by Janine Berdin. (Composer: Mhonver Lopez and Joanna Concepcion)
